One of the greatest challenges you will ever face is to remain consistent beyond all odds. To wake up every day and do the same thing in order to meet your goals. Its not easy. I know it first hand. There are days when all i want to do is stay in bed coped up watching movies eating junk food, taking a break from the world but i cant because i have a dream that doesn't allow me to slack. If you are much like myself who is tired of seeing our youth in the streets wasting away, you become very deliberate about when you rest and when you work because the task of creating and building a company is not easy. Your ability to grow as a company is dependent on many factors of which, your customers is one of them. I was once told that people dont live by what you say but by what you do', therefore, your company and what it stands for are reflected by how it is run, ability to keep promises. What a company does consistently speaks volumes about whether or not it can grow its customer base, generate revenue, build its brand and dominate the market. This also determines if it is a company customers can rely on. Likewise this is true on a individualistic capacity.
My experience in building a business from scratch has shown me that being consistent attracts investment and contributes to building resilience as an entrepreneur. I have learned that even the best business plans will fail without dedication to consistency. But achieving this is not easy. You need to be disciplined, diligent, committed, patient, able to take action, follow through on your statements and be focused.
The importance of consistency cannot be over emphasized because;
1. Consistency creates opportunity for measurement. - In order to determine the success or failure of anything you do, you have to be consistent in what your doing. Ever so often minor tweaking instead of major overhauls create the difference that changes the trajectory of a business in becoming profitable, effective and efficient.
2. Consistency creates the opportunity to build progressive company culture. - If you ask you employees to be on time for their deliverables and goals. They should expect the same in return from their leadership thereby contributing to the success of actualizing expectations and use of initiative in order to complete tasks and achieve goals. Consistency in your leadership sets precedence of the model your employees will follow.
3. Consistency creates the opportunity to establish your reputation. - It is well known that business growth requires a track record of success and not the shifting of gears or trying new tactics which internally creates difficulty in creating synergy within teams. Failure by teams is simply because teams didn't stay on course to achieve their objective.
Inconsistency creates uncertainty and removes predictability and ability to forecast
